IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS

Charity and volunteering

• Purchasing a special search engine software for the Pomoc lidem s leukémií (Help for people with leukemia) endowment fund by the Clinic of Hematology and Oncology of The University Hospital Brno

• The "POVODEŇ, aneb pomáhejte s námi", concert "THE FLOOD, come and help with us" (2002) in Janáček Theatre in Brno, organized in cooperation with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to facilitate help for families stricken by the 2002 floods in Moravia

• The DĚTI DĚTEM concert (Children to Children) at Červený kostel (the Red Church) in Brno, in cooperation with the Symphonic Orchestra of ZUŠ města Brna (Elementary School of Art Brno) to support the blind children of ZŠ pro nevidomé a slabozraké (Elementary School for Blind and Partially Sighted Children) in Brno (2004)

• NADĚJE PRO INDONÉSII concert (Hope for Indonesia) at Janáčkovo theatre in Brno, in cooperation with ADRA to help build schools after the floods (2005)

• Yearly Easter fundraisers in cooperation with Galerie Vaňkovka for Domov seniorů v Brně Bystrci (Retirement Home in Bystrc, Brno) for the purchase of a patient lift and recliners, the Zaydesa Foundation for the purchase of ten computers for two schools on the island of Zanzibar, the Lidická Elementary School for the creation of a
  special relaxation room for autistic children, Hospice St. Elizabeth for the creation of a library and the purchase of a variety of appliances (2013 - 2016)
  

• The yearly selling of Christmas punch in cooperation with Galerie Vaňkovka - the most significant event the club holds - the proceeds from the event are distributed to various projects of the following organizations: DEBRA, PRÁH, KLOKÁNEK, the ZAYDESA foundation, the Brumovice diaconia, the Retirement Home in Bystrc, Brno and Hospice St. Elizabeth (2005-2016)

• purchased a care bed for Albertinum Žamberk (2009)

• the purchase of a workout machine and lactate measuring kit for Běla Hlaváčková, a paralympian (2009)

• three years of a fundraiser golf tournament in cooperation with SK ANTE in Svratka, the proceeds of which were donated to various projects for children (2013 - 2015)

• Noc oživlých soch (The Night of Living Statues) - a fundraiser for autistic children, held in cooperation with Galerie Vaňkovka (2014)

Since its inception 15 years ago, RC Brno City has supported various organizations and individuals with resources amounting to more than 2.2 million CZK.

Support of talented students and supporting our youth

• sending Romana Zieglerová, an Academy of Performing Arts in Prague student, to the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia (2002)

• organizing an international summer camp in cooperation with Rotary clubs in Kroměříž, Zlín and Prague (2004)

• sending a number of students on both short-term and year-long Rotary exchanges (2004 - 2009)

• organizing a two week long Czech and German language course for Czech and Austrian students (2005)

• organized the CZ.KOMIKS contest to support talented students in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in cooperation with RC Angoulême (France) and RC Zvolen. The winning prize was a trip to the greatest comic festival in Europe (2011, 2013, 2015) along with a public exhibition.

• giving lectures at the RYLA (2010-2012) educational event and cooperation in sending a Slovakian student to France

• partner of the establishment of the ROTARACT Brno youth club (2004, re-established 2015)

• organizing professional Rotarian meetings - veterinarians (2000, 2002)

• organizing the Porozuměním k toleranci - jak se žije cizincům v Brně conference (Tolerance through Understanding - what is life in Brno like for foreigners) in the Office of the Public Defender of Rights (2004)

• partner of the Woman - a Creative Personality of the New Millennium international conference in the Bohemian National Hall in New York (2009)

• partner of the Budoucnost strojové civilizace symposium (Future of the Machine Civilization) (2014)
